A Case Study of a Pre-schooler With Anxiety Disor

Abstract
This case study is about play therapy administered for a child who was diagnosed with anxiety disorder showing interaction problems with peers and restricted interest. Early language development was retarded and autistic tendency was observed in eye contact and play patterns. These development imbalances caused instability of the child¡¯s mother, preventing her from giving a proper care to her child. Therefore, the treatment was aimed at having the child experience interactive relations in safe and receptive environments and the mother understand her child¡¯s characteristics and decrease her anxiety. With a total of 22 sessions administered, the child is showing autistic tendency in play therapy.
